Battle bots:

So many ideas,

So many hurdles...

"Just give me the instructions."

Battle bots are much more difficult to design and build than LEGO sets, due to its being tested under harsh conditions (rather than sitting on your shelf).

Following instructions does not translate into repair/troubleshooting skills.

"I can learn this on YouTube."

It takes tons of time and energy to chase all the possible video searches.

There are too many ideas to sort through.

By the time you invest your money and your time, you realize this design has flaws and is outdated.

"I want my robot to shoot fire and punch through walls."

Most robot rookies are not familiar with the science that a good battle robot requires. Often, their ideas are unrealistic and their expectations unmatched by physics. Their fantasies end up being inefficient and crumble under tests. This will be a definite case of "Not getting out of it what you put in it!"

Battle bots are designed,

not just duplicated!

  • Your robot needs a thinker behind the tools, not just a follower of steps!

  • Battle bots need your very own brain fuel behind the build, not just blind assembly!

"A GREAT battle bot comes from

problem-solving,

not just piecing it together!"

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What will I learn here that I can't find free on YouTube?

By following a video, expertise doesn't automatic transfer over to the student copying the robot, for repairs and troubleshooting.

For most beginners, your best robot is merely a forgery of other people's logic and design.

The world's top LEGO Battle Bots designers and competitors teach in our academy. Our main focus is not your robot, but your thinking that creates your robot. Because you can always repair a robot that you personally designed.

This is the first time we are teaching it publicly, so our academy is the only place to find mentors trained to work with kids.

2. How's this class different than a kit?

Battle bot designs requires true understanding in geometry, physics, and math. Our classes is neuroscientist-led, and we use kinesthetic and fun ways to prove the science and physics of battle bots to each student, because our body is the most important learning tool.

The building techniques for building battle robots are more advanced than LEGO sets, due to the 3-D bracing requirement in professional battles. Combat robots are actually a study in product longevity and sustainability. This is what our world desperately need: Less waste!

3. Why do I need classes?

We train once each student to both understand the science and THEN custom-apply physics and design principles INTO their own robots.

In battles, robots break where weaknesses converge. And the way robots break never matches the order it is put together. So it is up to each competitor to repair their robots based on the logic required for its distinctive design. And if that logic came from you, you are the best expert in the world to fix your own robot.

4. Why can't I just get the instructions?

LEGO Battle bots requires independent thinking (since it breaks and you will need to repair it), and it is hard to learn that when you are relying on other people's thoughts, step by step.

(And go read #3 again!)

5. Can we just use a LEGO set?

LEGO sets are good about creating a great building experience, but they are bad at explaining anything, don't you agree?!

LEGO sets are designed, built, and then displayed on the shelf.

Battle robots are individually designed, customized, and tested under intense and harsh environments, to prove endurance, durability, and structural integrity.

Battle robots must be interactive. They belong inside the battle arena, not on the shelves. That is VERY different than how typical LEGO sets are used.

6. How are your classes delivered?

We meet once a week, up to 90 minutes.

Live on Zoom

Your choices are:

7. Does age matter?

Anyone can build BattleBots.

BattleBots require:
a. self-improvement
b. willingness to test

c. resilience from failure

d. critical thinking,

e. actual physics, and math BEYOND regular school education.
